Kieve, days 1 & 2

So, obviously I got to go online tonight [Monday]. Right now, though, I'm witnessing a very intense gamble, I think they're playing.... no I don't even know. It's got dice and quarters.... o_o;; SO LOUD. I never knew old people could be so vocal ;P And as always, links open in a new window and pictures do too.

MONDAY - Kieve, day 2.

Ughhh, I slept so badly. And it was
so hot. Breakfast was small and everything we did just made us hotter. Mum knew we had to get some things in town, so we went, the two of us, so that we could at least be in the air conditioning. We wandered around in town for a while. We went into a bead shop so I could fix my necklace [needed a new string] and we got a bagel and some books in a book store. I saw a book by a person whose last name was Matthiessen. The lead singer of Relient K is Matt[hew] Thiessen. I lol'd. We also got ice cream :3 So good! When we came back, I listened to music for an hour but Mum and Tilly fell asleep. Just chilling felt really good. But I also got to hang out with the girls + Diego, which was nice.

I didn't eat much at dinner, but I got a nice long shower in before everyone got back to the cabin. Of course, that meant nothing because after dinner we went for a swim in the dark and a canoe ride. We were looking at the stars and I was pointing a few out to Diego. He kept asking where's this and where's that, and I didn't know what they looked like so I wasn't sure. Then it dawned on me, and I laughed at him and asked, "You're from the southern hemisphere, aren't you?! Our night skies look totally different." I also saw a shooting star. That was pretty much the whole day. I've written all this ahead of time, so I don't know if I'll get Internet tonight or not. Going a little crazy because I'm so addicted to tech. Oh well, see you soon I hope :]

SUNDAY - Kieve, day 1.

First of all, I didn't sleep all night on Saturday. I knew I wouldn't be able to wake up so early, and that the only way to be sure I'd be up was to stay up. With the help of many friends [second time I've out-lasted Will! O: ] and some hot chocolate, manga, and lots of music, I managed to do it. Mum had been saying 6, but we didn't leave until after 8. That's okay though. We got bagels and doughnuts! It was 11am by the time I could no longer combat my drooping eyelids. At that point, it had been 20.5 hours since I'd first woken up on Saturday afternoon. Oh dear.

I woke up just in time to see Portland and get some bubble tea and a small, late lunch. It was 2:30, which, had I stayed awake, would have been the 24 hour mark. I got some action shots of the cube in front of some Portland 'scenery' and driving down the Maine highway.

A funny thing I noticed with the GPS when we started getting into the
middle-of-no-where zone. It told us approximately how many miles there were to go, but it could not calculate the estimated time left, so it just said 0:00.

Finally, we got here, Kieve, two hours later. I stole the counselor's room in the cabin so I could have it all to myself ^-^ And I made it up very nicely so that it looks habitable. I took photos, but after I took these, I also hung up some towels as makeshift curtains and I laid out my clothing in one of the shelves.

I don't think I need to tell you, but my room does not have wifi. Or any sort of Internet at all. The whole cabin doesn't. But the dining hall does, so that's why I couldn't post this on Sunday night. However, the cabin does have, apparently, fantastic cell reception. Some other wonderful things about this place! Apparently, it's been colder and rainy all summer, and finally it's "summer" up here. It is so hot and muggy. There are mosquitoes fricken' every where! I keep getting bit no matter which way I turn. I chase off or kill one bug and get three more bites in the mean time.

But it's beautiful, as usual, and Tilly seems to be having a great time. She even ran into the water all by herself, where usually one would have to almost drag her in. Mum tried to do some pottery but, well no such luck lol. It was a very chill day. Monday's when the real fun things begin! :]
