Been a while, huh? Well over the next few days, I'm going to try to settle down and actually post all the ideas that have been kicking around since basically October. Ideas. Hah! I make it sound like I'm being original or something.
Well around the 20th of October, my roommate informed me that there would be a meteor shower. So, I quickly researched it and realised that the Orionids would be peaking that night at 1am, with an estimated sixty falling in an hour! I went to sleep at ten that night, and woke up at quarter to one. Armed with a sweatshirt and fluffy socks, and a group of friends carrying a giant fluffy blanket, I headed out to the green. We staked out a spot, and we all squeezed onto the big fluffy blanket. And the staring commenced. Other people came and found their own spots nearby, and some just sat on top of us *coughAlexandrecough*. It was pretty miraculous, because the sky here is so gorgeous. We could see planets, satellites, and stars. The sky is actually black here, as opposed to home, where we get this awkward orange colour for most of the night. I grew cold and tired, so I went back to my dorm at 1:30, but in that short half hour, I had witnessed seven really good shooting stars, and many other, less brilliant ones. It was incredible, and I'm looking forward to the next one, if there is one, before it gets freezing out.
