Lately, I feel like I've been too distracted to even write coherently. But I've got at least two posts kicking around. I'm working on actually fleshing them out and hopefully at least one of them should be up by uhhh let's say Saturday? Why not. Lofty goals here, folks.
Updates on other random things? I've been doing a lot of lazy stuff. The computer fixing didn't work out for me, so I'm sending all the parts back and getting my money back. D
// EDIT: 13 July -- HTML glitch here. Apparently I'm missing a bit and it's been too long to try to remember what's in between. Probably boring details on computer assembly and sister nagging. //
My sister wants me to take her to Rocky. I mean, I enjoy it a lot, of course, but Mum doesn't entirely approve, and she is my "little" sister. I don't know. I told her I would in a few years. But the movie is sex. Basically. It's the closest thing to porn she'll ever see, too. Mum would be super mad if I wanted to bring her to that. I don't know. I won't go back on my promise to bring her in a year or two, but if I bring my cousin Mike this summer - going to be a junior - he'll officially be the youngest person I've brought, and I have this weird thing about... corruption? Lol. I mean, there was Kat's friend, but I don't think that counts. I'll bring her. But not until she's seventeen or eighteen.
I've been watching Bones. Mostly to fill the "void" in my life left by my recent Lost binge. That, and Stephen Fry is in it occasionally and it's on Netflix Watch Instantly. That's about it. It's not that good. The premise is almost exactly like Castle. All-work-no-play lead lady good with a gun and a little socially awkward. Fun loving guy who doesn't really know what he's gotten himself into when it comes to the technical / work stuff that the woman has to deal with. One of them has written a best-selling book. Lots of geeky stuff. Even some episodes follow similar plots. The saddest part is, though, Castle came second, making it the copy-cat, but it does it all so much better. Yeahhh.
My fourth of July weekend was thoroughly enjoyable. I watched 1776 with Charlie, John Adams, Alex, Dan. Andrew came. We went to Rocky and it was great watching Jenny, David, and Andrew squirm as virgins. Kathleen loved every second of it. I went to sleep at almost five. Got up about 1, but Andrew didn't wake up until almost four! We went to his house for a little while and the two of us hung out while Mum talked with his parents. Then I came home. We watched the fireworks and then I saw The A-Team with my cousins and sister. And here I am typing up stuff and watching Bones. Yayyyy. A-Team and advertising posts to come, I swear!

Shooting Stars
Been a while, huh? Well over the next few days, I'm going to try to settle down and actually post all the ideas that have been kicking around since basically October. Ideas. Hah! I make it sound like I'm being original or something.
Well around the 20th of October, my roommate informed me that there would be a meteor shower. So, I quickly researched it and realised that the Orionids would be peaking that night at 1am, with an estimated sixty falling in an hour! I went to sleep at ten that night, and woke up at quarter to one. Armed with a sweatshirt and fluffy socks, and a group of friends carrying a giant fluffy blanket, I headed out to the green. We staked out a spot, and we all squeezed onto the big fluffy blanket. And the staring commenced. Other people came and found their own spots nearby, and some just sat on top of us *coughAlexandrecough*. It was pretty miraculous, because the sky here is so gorgeous. We could see planets, satellites, and stars. The sky is actually black here, as opposed to home, where we get this awkward orange colour for most of the night. I grew cold and tired, so I went back to my dorm at 1:30, but in that short half hour, I had witnessed seven really good shooting stars, and many other, less brilliant ones. It was incredible, and I'm looking forward to the next one, if there is one, before it gets freezing out.

Camelympics
I don't think I ever wrote about the wonder that is Camelympics. First of all, check out the ever-amusing compilation of photos here.

There was a team for almost every dorm [and then there was team X lol], and every team had to have a cheer, a shirt, and a banner. We all signed up for events, and I signed up for Dodgeball, Scrabble, and a Spelling Bee. Dodgeball was SO EPIC. We came in third place - we were owning so hard for the longest time, um, until we lost. But the team we lost to ended up being first place, lol. Scrabble was equally as epic - we came in third overall, and on our first move of our first game, we put down a 76 point word. WIN. Or something. That was pretty amazing. Spelling, however, was the opposite of epic. It was epic fail. Lol. At one am, my brain doesn't care how to spell aqueduct any more.

Kelsey did what was called "The Longest Event". She held on to a tree for over eight hours. She, and nine others, made it all the way until 3, when it was over. Yay.

When Dan and Bo and I had nothing left to do, we kept Kelsey company. We fed her a little bit, we read to her from Winnie The Pooh, and we listened as Alex played a lot of Switchfoot songs. At one point, some girl gave us a blanket, and Dan and Bo and I curled up inside of it for the last hour to keep warm [it got so cold!!]. So that was that.

Kieve and Home!
Grapes. Glue. Gyroscopes. Go go go for G!
SATURDAY - Home, Sweet Home.
Last night was fun. PackpackHanaKimiHanaKimiSleep. I woke up this morning at ten to five - that's 4:50am folks! - because I felt something weird on my leg. Apparently Mum was trying to wake me up by pushing gently on my knee o_O;; Oh well. Of course, I get up real fast, and I'm totally ready to go in less than ten minutes. And, of course, my sister throws a tantrum. She gets in the car sobbing quietly and by the time we pull away, out of earshot of our sleeping cabin-mates, she starts screaming about how much she hates Mum. "I hope you kill us all!" It's times like this that actually make me excited to go to college.
I really wanted a bagel for breakfast but we couldn't find a bagel shop anywhere! So we ended up with Dunkin' Donuts instead, but it was really bad >>;; Oh, except you know how tiny our 'medium' hot chocolate or coffee is here? Theirs was HUGE in comparison lol. Heh.
The rest of the ride was fairly uneventful. I slept for an hour or so. We got home just after noon. I brought my bag of books upstairs and then when I was leaving the house again to get my other bag, I slipped down the porch steps. I got really wet, and now I have a cut on my back >>;;
I watched There Will Be Blood. I like that movie :]
We went to Best Buy to get this laptop we've been looking at. It's very nice. I'm just sad that this one is so crummy. Mum was very worried that I couldn't be able to rely on this one for college.
Mum and I also went to Shop Rite. We bought bagels! And this weird egg stuff and other things. So for dinner, I tried to make these eggs and they turned out very well, and then I also ate a bagel. And we also made pudding! Yay! But then I fell asleep and woke up around 10-10:30. Since then, I've been setting up my computer and wasting time.
I'm excited because this week, I'll get to hang out with Will, Sharon, Ying, Jesson, the marching band, and maybe even Elisabeth! Ooh I hope so! And maybe Vigg, but more on that later. Don't feel like writing it up, not sure I ever will *lazy*. Peace!
FRIDAY - Kieve, day 6.
Once more, I skipped breakfast. Too tired lol. I watched everyone swimming [didn't bother going in, myself, because by the time I changed and started having fun, it'd be time for lunch]. Took some photos though. I hung out for a while, and even climbed in the giant bell with Caroline.

Then Mum made me go to Wiscasset to buy $30 worth of cheap crap because each of us [Mum, sister, and I] had a $10 coupon to a discount store. On the way, Jesson called me and asked if I wanted to play Dark Heresy over the phone. I declined. I got something for myself, my sister, and Jesson.

We were back at the camp just in time for dinner. And after dinner was the annual slideshow! I managed, as usual, to be in as few photos as possible, but there were some awesome photos of the other guys.

Tonight, Diego really wanted to do pottery, so we went up there. I didn't want to make anything, though, and sitting space was very low, so I came back down to the cabin to write this and to pack.
Tomorrow, we're going to leave early, like before breakfast, I hope. Please please please. I mean, Mum says so, but, well, if you know Mum.... *facepalm* Mostly, I'm worried about Brigid. She won't want to. Meh. The next time I get online, I believe, will be AT MY HOUSE. YAYYY. Get ready for Saturday's numerous bored-stuck-in-car-kill-me tweets lol. Peace!
THURSDAY - Kieve, day 5.
I got really depressed on Wednesday night after reading Bryan's latest blog entry and reflecting a little bit. At least three of my very good friends left on Thursday, and I never got a chance to give them a proper goodbye. Furthermore, Vigg said he'd be on vacation from Friday until Friday, the night before I leave. So Wednesday morning wasn't much better, and I actually started crying no matter how much I tried to stop it. Mum even stayed back from a hike to stay with me =\\ Then my retard of a computer wouldn't let me watch my Jeeves & Wooster DVDs, so I ended up watching Hana Kimi and trying to explain it to Mum. Then we had lunch and went out because my aunt wanted to go shopping. Bleh, that wasn't so fun. But I did get ice cream ^-^.
I saw a show called "Scales and Tails." As you might guess, it was a demonstration about reptiles. It was so cool, and my dog was being surprisingly well behaved, not even winking an eye at the snake, iguana, and alligator. The alligator matched the guy's shirt; I loved that.

There was also a concert! Bruce Marshall. But it was so loud ><;;

I also got to hang out with the girls and Diego all night, which was fun. Someone was playing music up at the dining hall and we danced around to it. It was 12:30 before we were kicked out and sent back to our cabins =P

Videos! Diego raps about how much he wanted to go back to the cabin [sorry, I only got the very end], and Leilani, my sister, and Caroline sing that song...

Kieve, days 1 & 2
So, obviously I got to go online tonight [Monday]. Right now, though, I'm witnessing a very intense gamble, I think they're playing.... no I don't even know. It's got dice and quarters.... o_o;; SO LOUD. I never knew old people could be so vocal ;P And as always, links open in a new window and pictures do too.
MONDAY - Kieve, day 2.
Ughhh, I slept so badly. And it was so hot. Breakfast was small and everything we did just made us hotter. Mum knew we had to get some things in town, so we went, the two of us, so that we could at least be in the air conditioning. We wandered around in town for a while. We went into a bead shop so I could fix my necklace [needed a new string] and we got a bagel and some books in a book store. I saw a book by a person whose last name was Matthiessen. The lead singer of Relient K is Matt[hew] Thiessen. I lol'd. We also got ice cream :3 So good! When we came back, I listened to music for an hour but Mum and Tilly fell asleep. Just chilling felt really good. But I also got to hang out with the girls + Diego, which was nice.

I didn't eat much at dinner, but I got a nice long shower in before everyone got back to the cabin. Of course, that meant nothing because after dinner we went for a swim in the dark and a canoe ride. We were looking at the stars and I was pointing a few out to Diego. He kept asking where's this and where's that, and I didn't know what they looked like so I wasn't sure. Then it dawned on me, and I laughed at him and asked, "You're from the southern hemisphere, aren't you?! Our night skies look totally different." I also saw a shooting star. That was pretty much the whole day. I've written all this ahead of time, so I don't know if I'll get Internet tonight or not. Going a little crazy because I'm so addicted to tech. Oh well, see you soon I hope :]
SUNDAY - Kieve, day 1.
First of all, I didn't sleep all night on Saturday. I knew I wouldn't be able to wake up so early, and that the only way to be sure I'd be up was to stay up. With the help of many friends [second time I've out-lasted Will! O: ] and some hot chocolate, manga, and lots of music, I managed to do it. Mum had been saying 6, but we didn't leave until after 8. That's okay though. We got bagels and doughnuts! It was 11am by the time I could no longer combat my drooping eyelids. At that point, it had been 20.5 hours since I'd first woken up on Saturday afternoon. Oh dear.
I woke up just in time to see Portland and get some bubble tea and a small, late lunch. It was 2:30, which, had I stayed awake, would have been the 24 hour mark. I got some action shots of the cube in front of some Portland 'scenery' and driving down the Maine highway.

A funny thing I noticed with the GPS when we started getting into the middle-of-no-where zone. It told us approximately how many miles there were to go, but it could not calculate the estimated time left, so it just said 0:00.
Finally, we got here, Kieve, two hours later. I stole the counselor's room in the cabin so I could have it all to myself ^-^ And I made it up very nicely so that it looks habitable. I took photos, but after I took these, I also hung up some towels as makeshift curtains and I laid out my clothing in one of the shelves.
I don't think I need to tell you, but my room does not have wifi. Or any sort of Internet at all. The whole cabin doesn't. But the dining hall does, so that's why I couldn't post this on Sunday night. However, the cabin does have, apparently, fantastic cell reception. Some other wonderful things about this place! Apparently, it's been colder and rainy all summer, and finally it's "summer" up here. It is so hot and muggy. There are mosquitoes fricken' every where! I keep getting bit no matter which way I turn. I chase off or kill one bug and get three more bites in the mean time.
But it's beautiful, as usual, and Tilly seems to be having a great time. She even ran into the water all by herself, where usually one would have to almost drag her in. Mum tried to do some pottery but, well no such luck lol. It was a very chill day. Monday's when the real fun things begin! :]
